1 Million Pounds of Beef recalled in The U.S.

If you haven’t seen the movie Food Inc you might want to. You’ll get a better understanding of why we have outbreaks of E-Coli with our beef. It’s sad to have 1 million pounds of beef patties recalled during the busiest time for BBQ’s. Read here for the full story.

  1. “Consumers are urged to throw away any of this beef, if they still have it in their freezers.” (quote taken from recall article).

This is the sort of thing that just irritates the heck out of me. Where is the responsibility of the meat processor Valley Meat Company? Shouldn’t they instead be asking the consumer to at least keep the packaging as evidence that they purchased tainted meat so that Valley Meat Company can do the honorable thing and refund the consumers money?

What good is the recall if the meat is just thrown away? Or to put it another way, “Swept under the carpet”? Until these processing plants are hit where it hurts, in their pocketbooks, they will never change their unclean, unethical, corrupt processing methods! When will out governement start actually looking out for the people of this country and start governing this sort of nightmare? Only when it’s not big business for the government as well!!
